Making Big Money Doing Small Welding Jobs! $1000+ / Day!

rewrite this In this video I break down how I can make $2000 in 2 days doing a small railing repair. Fabrication and tig welding is a specialized process that demands a high hourly rate. It takes care to make sure your cuts and welds are accurate, so I charge $100+ for it, with little to no resistance. I enjoy challenging little projects like this!

We use the roller switch instead of the foot pedal when we get into awkward position on the rocket. I wasn’t a fan at first, but once you get used to it, it’s easy.

Charging 100 an hour but welding with that tape on is criminal… I'm a welder by trade and as much as i agree you can make good money on the side, you can also keep a nice consistent client base by not ripping them off. This is the only video i've seen and have no clue on your trades etc, so i'm not hating, but you gotta be reasonable with your pricing. This video to me just screams you can rip people off, like when you said people won't question you on the price because no one really knows the pricing. If youre gonna start a side business in welding, be honest with your customers, dont charge extortionate prices and they will most likely find more jobs for you because of that. if you're gonna charge them a weeks worth of work (for some people) in a day, they are not gonna be there on a regular basis, it will be like when their car breaks and they don't want to have to go to the mechanic cos he is gonna be expensive.

PS: tig welding in the workshop might seem like more time, but you also wont have to clean them up, there are pros and cons, but personal opinion tig is way more fun especially if you're good at it and the only way to get good is by doing it.

Hi bro, can u help me to answer a question? I am from Vietnam, I have 1 experience about Mig welding in Vietnam. I will go to Canada this September and I want to find a welding job. Can I find that jobs? What do I need to prepare to find this job?

Don't feel like you robbed somebody…if they called you, they probably expected to pay a lot more. That's usually the case for us…we charge enough to make the hard stuff worth it to us, but more often than not, the homeowner will throw in a couple more bills because we do good work and we aren't trying to " retire" off of them. If there are a bunch of stairs we have to carry our stuff up, or carpentry… anything other than tile…we WILL jack the price up, so either they don't hire us, or if they do, it doesn't hurt nearly as much to do all that bs. Thanks for the video, I'm trying to learn how to weld so I can do some things around the house and garage.

Dude, anytime your car keys are hanging out of your back pocket, it's not a hard weld. Oh the positions I have been in and the body parts I've burned. Great vid tho. Glad you're doing well!

Since a painter is coming in to fill gaps, utilizing plug welds for the tie-ins would have been a much faster and easier option.

Yall talking about how much he charged but it’s people out here that would’ve charged them 700 and did a lazy job and they would’ve had to go and possibly pay for it to be repaired again, I’m a welder and I don’t disagree with what he charged

2 grand for a couple of bits of railing….. fuck you know how to charge!!! I could have fabbed and fitted all that in half a day…. work wasn't anything special either

I'm charging 150/hr for onsite work. I'd be more expensive. What I really want to know though. How do you market yourself?

I’m giving this stuff away when I know I’m worth more.
Thanks, this lets me know I can charge more for my service.
    Thanks for the knowledge
What are the state laws in your state to do this work. Did lots of work and got burnt many times operating without a license. Now I’m licensed and fill like my knowledge is worth more than what I’m selling it for.

This is exactly the type of job I'd like, doing smaller residential jobs. Do you have a business license and insurance? How and where do you advertise? I'm about halfway done with welding school so I've got time to think about it all, but man I'd love to be independent from an employer, but I really have no idea of how to go about it and everything I need to do to be legit.
