Its furry porn, its always furry porn. Even if youre not good as long as you can draw tits and furry faces you will find someone desperate enough to commission their fantasies

Tripadviser gives society6 such a bad review, I struggled to find an artist rating it 5 or 4 stars.

Super valuable video. Thanks for creating it. I think the idea of identifying and leaning into your niche with consistency escapes many artist because it seems limiting and overly simplified. But a quick look at the popular artists on Instagram proves it. Find something and stick to it until you are the one that is known for doing it above everyone else.
@swissorsweep
Fantastic video! Such encouraging words coming from someone who also had no subscribers to now having 200k+ as I type this. Thanks for this!

Hey just wanted to throw this out there. But isn't using fivver a good way to get black listed from studios? Idk if all job boards are this way, but I remember when I looked into Fivver specifically that there were lots of warnings that if you use it studios won't take you seriously.
@karenwang313
Just because you make money doesn't mean the rest of us can or will. The truth is that the Internet is flooded with mediocre artists and there aren't enough jobs for all of us, so the value of the work we make is virtually zero. It's basic economics.
@srednaart
Probably the best vid I've seen on making money as an artist! If people take your advice, they can begin making money today. I've tried many of these ways and am always looking for new ideas. Currently doing art fairs and comissions is how I make most of my money.

3D art is like Egyptology – nobody actually hires egyptologists so they have to earn money by training other egyptologists. It's a never ending cycle of gullible people.

@ninja_tony
The most important thing you didn't say but really should have: It doesn't matter what steps one artist took to become successful, or HOW they grew a following, that doesn't mean you will be able to replicate it. And in fact, you most likely won't. I see way too many young artists try to copy others, from the art style itself down then the methods of posting their work and how they go about growing a community. Most of them fail miserably because they think that just because another artist became successful with the same steps, it will happen for them as well. It usually won't. Every artist needs to find their own path, not try to copy the path of others. Even the tips you provided – while totally valid options – are pretty generic and common paths that countless artists have already taken. There are luckily countless ways to monetize your work that most artists never even consider, despite the answers being right in front of them (hint, the answer is different for everyone). And no, NFTs are not the solution either, and anyone that claims they will be a "get rich quick" path are hopelessly short sighted about how business works in the first place.
@raqueldj6
Thank you for this video, you make it sound possible and not that difficult to start making money as an artist. Obviously, it implies hours of work and practice but it seems doable at any level, not only when you are a pro and everyone already loves your artwork π

And I am already good at drawing monsters and demons

Or you just do fury fetish art. You're gonna make big bucks, trust me.
@lulu_._9624
I personally think that having more than one art style its actually really helpful and gives you more oportunities, since the people have more options to choose! Meanwhile, having an inconsistent style that always changes may give you problems.

Ive tried engage with people reposting their work, giving likes and commenting, Ive uploaded part of my portfolio and tried to be consistent but I cant see an improvement over that, Im glad it has given me commissioned work but i would like to at least have a 1000, I'll try your tips Lucas, I like the way you put things into perspective, this is my last chance, thanks for your help
