I actually like my work environment, winning the lottery would make it more likely that I'll stay because then I can just work for the fun of it 😆

​ @BeatTheBush WTF does that mean? I used to view going to work as fun and not work but I love breaking laws so if I can break laws, speed, run form the cops and do a whole lot of illegal things I am having fun even if not paid!!!! I just don't like fines, or cops, or judges.

Im only 26. And ive made enough money. At this point I can see thru all materialistic things. I see them as a scam of sorts.

I think making tons of money is like the “hedonic treadmill effect.” As you get to the next level, our incredible human adaptation is like…mehhhh what’s next. Lol

There is no point in making tons of $. The goal should be to hold down a house and expenses for your life, until the day you die. If you can do that and are then able to freely pursue what you really love, that is what I would define as success. I am not trying to be rich, I am just trying to get by where exchanging time for money is not the only way I can keep expenses at bay.

I'd wish all my colleagues who work for the money would quit. So we could work on the real thing instead of the paycheck and career.

Society definitely frowns upon someone going off on their own doing their own thing. I am sure I work more out of expectation than joy of the work. I need to find that thrill of making more money.

Especially in the investing or trading game, making money is very addictive

Maybe I am a cynical SOB, but it definitely sounds like one: High on motivation, but low on substance.

I think I would keep my job and just stop working OT. Who knows for how long though, I would certainly be more likely to jump ship if I find something else I’d rather do.

Instead of being "thrilled by making money", I replace the word "money" with "freedom". Getting closer to early retirement puts a tangible endpoint on the daily grind of work.
