This is someone's bad idea of MLM set up. MLM is just a different business system. Just like Corporate the structure can be different, and the results of the system can be different. If MLM was truly limited and unethical as a system it would have collapsed. So this demonstration only serves to prove a failing structure. I say no to those businesses as well!!!

MLM works this way – You need to want to work, and the want is as great or greater than the need. The results of the work give you unlimited income, based upon the results of efforts, and the leadership gets the remainder.
Corporate works this way – You want to work, and your need to work generally drives you. The results of the that work give you a consistent limited income, and the leadership is only giving you the remainder of the limited and/ or sometimes unlimited remainder.

People who get sucked in by Ponzi schemes and unethical MLM start ups create these videos and apply the same perception to the whole industry BUT why don't we see this in Corporations??? The scam is in the scammers. So, trust your gut to trust you true desire – to be enslaved by others, or to create your own wealth?

What you are explaining is a pyramid scam of which there are many. Multi level marketing. It is different, when people enter they have the opportunity to sell a product and earn a commission, in turn they can invite others to do the same and when products are sold or consumed, there is a commission, that is the real deal. What you explain is illegal pyramid schemes, NOT THE REAL BUSINESS OF EARNING COMMISSIONS FOR SALES AND CONSUMPTION OF PRODUCTS OR SERVICES. Go find out the real deal before you explain wrongly or what they got you into, you ignorant, that's how you hurt good people.

Society shut down and people are still walking around in fear of a 1% chance of dying from a particular illness. Is it any surprise so many people fall for MLMs?

I used to work for an airline. A coworker and his wife invited me to a pizza place for dinner once, sort of out of the blue. He and I worked pretty closely, but I'd never met his wife. That type of invite is one of two things. Unfortunately, it was to try to recruit me to Amway and not the other thing. I told them No. A few months later, we discovered that someone had stolen award codes to get two free domestic flights. I worked with the internal security guy to investigate, and, you guessed it, Amway guy had done it so he and his wife could fly to a convention in San Diego. By the time we figured it out, they were on their way home. We contacted Denver, where they were connecting, and they were denied boarding for the last segment back. Once they did get back home, they were arrested.

Point is, setting aside the financial horrors and the alienation of your friends and family, the decision to join an MLM can make you make other poor decisions with significant consequences.

I flew to Johannesburg where we were supposed to be honoured to meet this multi billionaire which we did. After the event our upline suggested we poor people pay for the meal of the billionaire.

Not only did we pay for his food, everyone was asked to split the bill evenly. My dessert came to two dollars but I had to pay fifty dollars as many people paid less due to the fact that they ate more but paid less since the bill was split.

If you’re capable of having a little bit of success in an MLM you’d be taking those skills to car sales, solar or financial services and actually making money
